going numb

This is my virtual rocking chair where I sit and ponder faith. I love to write even when it is about something I know so little about-like faith. More than twenty years ago I began my journey with Christ Jesus, hand in hand I have walked with Him...mostly. Our walks include this third companion we call Faith. Faith seems to be there all the time except when I can't see her. (I warned you that I didn't understand).
I hope you will come along on my journey, perhaps we will learn together. If you enjoy what you read please follow this blog and share it with friends, and don't hesitate to leave a comment...I can take it!

Going Numb

In 1989, J. Hirtle and his family would begin a life in the majestic beauty of Soldotna, Alaska. The splendor of the Last Frontier would soon lose its appeal when Jim’s wife would begin her journey on a life addicted to prescribed painkillers. Attempting to flee the ravages of addiction, Jim would move his family across the country on two different occasions. Attempts to regain the solidarity of his family were thwarted by willing doctors and the easily acquired prescriptions at each new location. Finally realizing that fleeing was not the cure, Jim turned to God and scripture for the answer. Going Numb recounts the struggles of addiction, his walk with Christ Jesus, and the mercy and grace of God.
